Walking with God on the Road You Never Wanted to Travel – taught by Harold Savage (Auditorium)

The Christian life isn't always a walk in the park. Children of Christian parents do die. Christian businessmen do lose their jobs. Being a Christian doesn't protect you from the tough punches life throws. Taking fourteen strategies from the biblical account of the Israelite journey, these lessons will offer real hope to those on an unexpected, difficult journey. For forty years the Israelites wandered through a devastating wilderness, suffering many losses, and yet learning some timeless lessons. Though you are on a road you never wanted to travel, you can decide not to get stuck in the wilderness. A better life awaits for you on the other side, and God wants to lead you there.

Sacred Pathways –  ladies’ class taught by Kay Savage (Room #104)

Because we were created individually, we each have our own individual way of seeking God. During the spring quarter we will study nine different paths to strengthening our relationship with God. Which is your path? Your husband's path? Your child's path?  Come explore these “Sacred Pathways,” breathe new life into your time with God, and become more aware of how others seek Him. Get to know yourself better and discover something new about the sister sitting next to you in class and worship.

Teen Class

“Who We Are” taught by Perry Price and Tom Wolaver.

Children's Classes
Theme:  The Fall of Man; Cain, Abel and Seth.

Memory Verse:  “They heard the sound of the Lord God walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and the man and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the Lord God among the trees of the garden.” Genesis 3:8 NASB

By studying Genesis, the children will see examples of how our actions can have consequences, good or bad.  Through video, they will see a story of Cain and Abel and discuss God’s favor.  Through games the children and teachers will discuss temptation and ways to overcome it.  By acting out a play, the children will learn about jealousy and anger.

By the end of the lesson, the children should have a better understanding that even though we are tempted and sometimes sin, God provides a plan for us to follow that will make us right again.
