Loving God, Loving People

Rabun County

Norman Parrish and the Rabun County church of Christ in Tiger, GA, prepared a gospel meeting and Vacation Bible School, June 24-27. David Sargent, minister of the Creekwood church of Christ in Mobile, AL -- one of the earliest congregational co-sponsors of the work in Rabun County -- spoke on the following topics:
  • "The Man in the Mirror"
  • "The Abundant Life"
  • "The Treasurer and His Treasure"
  • "The Undenominational Christianity"
  • "Why the Church"
Brother Sargent has a B.A. degree from Faulkner University in Bible and a MIM degree from Freed-Hardeman University. He has been involved in Christian education through the Mobile Christian School. Sunday Bible study is scheduled for 10 am, morning worship for 11 am, evening worship for 7 pm, and worship Monday through Wednesday, also for 7 pm each evening.

Creekwood Bible teachers and their helpers will be coming with Brother Sargent to conduct the Vacation Bible School each evening.

We in the Snellville family should not hesitate to remember this effort in our daily prayers. It may also be appropriate to send messages of encouragement to brother Parrish and the Rabun County church of Christ. The church's email address is
RCCOC@rabun.net. Brother Parrish's email address is nparrish@alltel.net
.

Among its other activities, the church is also working to establish a cemetery with at least 64 plots. Surveyors were out early this month to lay out the cemetery design and plan a road system. The church's hope is to put half of the cemetery in clover and wild flowers until more room is needed to reduce maintenance and mowing.
